Supernormal has been invited to create an installation at TIME SPACE EXISTENCE in Venice, Italy and to discuss the topic as part of the Biennale Architettura 2025 Gens Public Programme on October 5. It has been a great opportunity to think about the future of our domestic lives at the intersection of decarbonization and artificial intelligence. The smart home is such a painful paradigm from the perspective of human meaning and connection to our environment. . . is there a better way? Can data bring us closer rather further apart? Are the goals of energy efficiency and the inefficiencies required for human meaning at odds or can they live together in harmony? This work helps us think at the margins in terms of the future of design for housing and domesticity.
