A paper, written by Supernormal’s Elizabeth Christoforetti in response to the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies symposium Bringing Digitalization Home: How can Technology Help Address Housing-related Challenges? on the topic of how housing is designed and built, and how housing digitalization is changing the practice of architecture itself: https://www.jchs.harvard.edu/research-areas/working-papers/how-housing-digitalization-may-change-ways-built-environment-designed

Elizabeth served as a commenter and panelist during the same symposium in the spring of 2022. This work reflects upon the increasing need for design practice to confront the shift from digitization (the translation of information from analog to digital) to digitalization (the implications for systemic change in an era of sufficient digitization). It supports efforts such as Bit by Bit and other leading edge housing projects at Supernormal.
